Here are 3 photos from "model set" in the book!
I made slight changes to the pattern embellishments & accents.
I changed the color palette from greens & purples as shown here >>
to the warm, sunset colorations ....for 2 reasons:
1) The gift is for an African American baby girl...
and I love the warm colorations for African American children!
2) I had the warm palette of yarn in my STASH...and wanted to use it!
Pattern called for "Crab Stitch" around the
armholes and neckline. It looked horrid on
my jumper. Maybe it was my yarn choice.
I like the simple crochet scalloping just fine.
I like my "floppy flower" better than the model.
Found the pattern for these embellishements
in Nicky Epsteins "Knitted Embellishments".
Her books are so good to have around!
I use them a lot! Worth every penny spent!
Size 6-9 months. Will fit her baby girl next Spring.
She is a "2 months early" PREEMIE, born mid-March.

All the Greens were the same for all 3 pieces,
although they don't look quite the same
in this photo (above) of the book's photo!
